andy have you checked the fuel line between the pump and the tank? there is a "sock" filter on the end of the line in the tank many times these become clogged and fuel cannot be drawn thru fast enough to keep the engine supplied, with 2 pumps trashed, im betting on this one, also check and see what kind of fuel pump pressure you have its possible that the lobe that the fuel pump runs of of is worn and "short stroking" the pump, although this is a very rare occurance
