If it were me I probably wouldn't put the hitch on the bumper, receivers are awful handy. I bought one of those hooks that slides in and pins, its way handier and safer than putting a chain on a ball. F14 has his truck setup so he can put his winch on any receiver which makes that danged handy. Plus with a receiver if you've got to switch hitches, different size balls or to a pintle hook its pretty easy.
I've also seen lots of bumpers, even ones I thought looked pretty secure, on the side of the road still hooked to the trailer.
Plus another thought is where are you going to hook your safety chains if the bumper is the hitch? Hooking to the bumper doesn't make much sense. I suppose you could make custom hook points on the bed someplace, but thats not a real good option either...

No, if it was me I'd put a receiver hitch on and get a nice looking diamond plate bumper.
