large truck antifreeze

Posted by Jim on October 03, 2002 at 06:14:06 from (65.118.14.92):

I have an old fire engine that has a 1988 Detroit Diesel Engine. I would like to check to make sure my coolant system is properly serviced, as the manual calls for the proper concentration of supplemental inhibitors to be added to the cooling system. My question is how do I test or measure if the correct amount of inhibitors is present (i.e. what kind of equipment do I need, etc.). Where can I find a detailed procedure on maintaining the coolant system?

All help will be appreciated.
