Old tractor moving truck

Howdy folks. My dad and I thought of getting an old semi-truck, restoring it, and using it to pull around our tractors to shows and all. Thinking something from the 50s or 60s, like a Mack, Diamond Reo, or International. I've heard that plate costs, etc weren't bad for private use. Do you need a truck driver's license to drive it? Thanks.
