evans, that old should be oil bath originaly, is there no number on the filter element? if not no problem take it to carquest in the back of the filter BOOK [ go to the oldest guy you see in the store] is a chart listing every filter by demensions, they can match up one for you, if you dont have the element at all still not a problem, measure the smallest diameter where the filter should be also the largest diameter in the same spot, now, this is kind of tricky but you need to find the height of the filter inside the housing,use something like wood blocks and washers to fine tune the height, remember it is critical that the housing must seal on the filter both top and bottom, any space here and the engine will suck in unfilterd air, not good!
