It's NOT a synchro, at least the part of the synchro that will come in the $205 kit.

The synchros are simplt little clutches that match up the speeds just before a shift collar moves into place, and completes the shift. Once it is fully "in gear", the synchros have no effect.

The splines on the shift collar and gear are likely badly worn, so the collar "works" back away from the gear, and the tranny "jumps out of gear".

The problem COULD be aggravated by a worn rear bearing, or a bent shift fork or detent problem.
