I would be careful about working it hard advanced, but doing a burnout shouldn't cause engine problems, unless you let the RPM's get away from you. It will ruin tires very fast...I hope you have some junkers to use. Be real careful though. I have seen "informal" burnouts get real hairy, real quick. Hopefully they tie you down and the crowd is safe.
