78 Ford distributor stuck

Hi:

The distributor on my 78 Ford 351m was stuck and would not turn. After some effort I was finally able to free it. I removed the distributor and cleaned around the collar. Now, before I reassemble, should I grease or oil the collar to prevent it from sticking again?
