June of 2002 The Mercedes 4000 model engine will be added to the option list for Sterling Trucks.
And most likely Freightliner and possibly Western Star Trucks. The 4000 is a 12.8 liter engine that has 6 individual cylinder head design.
It is the same size as the Series 60 Detroit.
The 900 series now used in Medium duty Sterling Trucks in my opinion is a very good engine.
Mechanical and Electronics are very good.
I have heard rumors of the Mercedes engine going into a Dodge??? I could not tell ya. So far It is just Rumor as far as I know.
Just thought I would pass some Factual information off to you all.
