94 suburban

I know this forum is for older rides but I need some help. 94 suburban 350 throttle-body keeps throwing trouble code "EGR malfunction".Handheld computer shows valve open most of the time under load but every so often closes while driving for no appearent reason thus triggering code. Brand new EGR solenoid and valve neither made any difference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
