Lots of chevy questions

Posted by Red Rocket on October 25, 2002 at 04:09:45 from (207.230.208.228):

Anyone know where I can get an aftermarket air cleaner and housing. '83 Chevy 350 w/ a quadrajet.
I like the looks of the cleaners where the filter makes up the sides of the cleaner housing. Can anyone tell me where to get one?
Also what am I to do with my PVC valve and the filter (breather vent???) on the other side of the cleaner?

Any help would be greatly apperciated. I plan to eventually put a Holley or Edelbrock on the truck is there any problems with the swap and using the same cleaner that I purchase?

Can anyone help me with a secondary throttle? I would like to change my vacuum assist to a mechanical secondary. Is there any disadvantages or reasons I should keep the vacuum? It seems to give me problems every once and a while like there is an ocassional leak. Is there any problems to purchasing one from a junkyard and putting it on my quadrajet?
