Pull number one plug and bring the piston to TDC and check the position of the timing mark. If it is off the ring has slip. You can not time as the ring will continue to move around. You will have to time by ear or have the front pulley/damper rebuilt. There are places that do this. Find a copy of Hemmings Motor News. There will be ads for DAMPER REPAIR. Kent
