1975 IH 1800 Loadstar tandemn

I have a 75 IH loadstar tandemn farm truck. I have researched and think it has a 478 cu.in. gas engine, 5spd. and 4 spd. aux. trans. live tandem,. I am having problems getting it to run right. Has a problem a idle to about 2200 rpm and kicks in and runs ok a higher rpm. I need help in finding some parts or info. on the truck,engine, carb,etc. I would also like to entertain putting the petronix ignition in the distributor. I am needing to get this truck in shape to use due to wet weather currently we are having. THanks for any help.Kenny
