There is a board that specializes in Internationals. I'm sure you will find lots of information for your 1800. I've got an early 80's S1724 which shares many of the same components as the Loadstar series.

They can either tell you what engine you have or tell you how to find out.

All Internationals came with a "Line Setting Ticket" from the factory. Do you happen to have the one for your 1800? If not you can get a photostatic copy from a related site, "Binder Books". They offer most factory service manuals as well.
