Thanks for the replies. I gues it's back to the junk yard again. I bought the engine and trans from a farmer to put in a truck we have on the farm.,which is pretty much just a field truck,so I don't have all the numbers. I do know that this lockring must have been a problem,because I now have three trans,and they all have broken locks in them. The original broke while driving and left it go into two gears at once. The other two I got out of old school buses and in both of them the rings are cracked.Two of these trans. are close ratio 4th and 5th gear and the last one I picked up is an overdrive unit. Rick
