gooseneck travel trailer

Not quite a classic truck question but here goes. Just bought a fifth wheel travel trailer and would like to convert it or adapt it to gooseneck hitch to fit my pull vehicle which is all ready set up for a bale trailer. It would save the cost of buying a fifth wheel and I like the hidden ball I currently have on my flat deck pull vehicle. Is there reason's why I cannot do this or does it make sense.
