300-6,,1V carb replace, other 1V, 2V or 4V carbPosted by Boyd on November 26, 2002 at 01:39:58 from (203.10.110.131):
I have an 84 f150 2wd 300 with granny 4sp. I gotta replace the carb I was getting 12.5 mpg when I last drove it in Oct. The fumes from it are nasty. The 80s carbs tend to have cracks and/or other problems. I deliver pizza and need to get good mpg. I was thinking of:1. J.C.Whitney replacement carb for a 300-6 but 79 or older. I will remove all pollution junk. 2.An Offenhauser 4 barrell intake with 2 barrell adaptor and 2 barrel carb. 3.An Offenhauser 4 barrell intake and 4 barrell carb. I can a lot of fixes on my truck but am not good at carbs. I need one that is easy to setup and adjust and gets good mpg and is not expensive. I really should stay away from a big 4 barrell, I get addicted to power. He-He-He. You can email me direct at boydhauls@yahoo.com
