I know there were 4spd automatic(overdrive) Allisons in Dodge built schoolbuses. The 440 bellhousing should be easily modified to accept the later model Ram 5spd. What it would cost, I would stick with the old 435 4spd. If mileage is a concern put a 3.55:1 rearend in it. I'm quite sure you have a 4.10 now
