89 5.8 Ford dipstick

I finally fixed the dipstick in my truck and I thought I would pass along what had to be done.
On the 5.8 the dipstick tube runs down between the exhaust manifold and the head, this causes excessive heat to build up and over the course of 150k miles the baked oil buildup closed off the tube. After removing the tube from the block I installed a length of wire coat hanger into an electric drill and drilled the carbon out. It worked slick. The next time I run into this problem I will drill it without removing the tube.
