Guy, there's a lot of maybe's there. All I can do
is give you a first-hand example.
I have a 2002 2500HD 2x w/360 cid gas-4:10
rearend-4sp auto. I pull a 17/3 dove tail deck-
over bumper-hitch with twin 7k live axels. My '70
gas tricycle is a little heavier than a 'G' and
I am a little top-heavy loaded.
Most of the time, I'm o.k.-but I wouldn't want
any more tractor or any less truck. I don't think
the K-series were rated more than 8200 gvw and
you'd probably be pushing everything to the max.
Maybe, if your '89 is top notch... and you've
got a light trailer...
Wish you luck. pb
