It sounds like a lot more work than the truck is worth, you would have to get a tranny cooler, a shifter, change the pedal setups, and on and on. Big job, I would recomend that if your mind is made up on changing this truck to an automatic, to get a donor truck, another 70 to 72 model from the salvage yard with all of the parts that you need , that way you can take them out of it , and know that they will interchange. You never said what you were working on, Chevy, Ford, or Dodge, 6 cylinder, or V8, need to know this also
