We(me and my brother) have a '70 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy with 3 on the tree and a 250 6.........I happen to like 3 on the tree, but if I were you I would change it over to a 4 speed manual or cut a hole in the floor for a shifter for the 3 speed......I don't like auto's so that is what I would do. If you have a V-8 Chevy it shouldn't be that hard to make it auto, if it is a 6 that could be another story........
