Chev. Colors

I have a 47 1/2 ton Chv. The guy that had the truck before had three or four girls and each spring they would paint Dad's truck. With brushes and mops it looks like. Behind the grill and a few other spots it looks like the factory color was yellow. Did chev. 1/2 tons come in yellow back in 47? One thing them girls did with all that paint was prevent rust as well as making Dad happy.
