Steering knuckle bearing preload 1960 1/2 ton

Unable to find preload torque for new knuckle
bearings. 1960 Dana 44 closed knuckle. Manual says,
'using a spring scale at steering knuckle arm check
pound pull required to rotate steering knuckle'.
Trouble is the old bearings were shot. Tried the
Chevy service manager, Napa, and the local 4x4 shop.
No luck. Anybody know or know were to dig it up?
