7.3 International v.s 7.3L powerstroke

I was considering a used diesel ford pickup for my next vehicle but, I was wondering if the newer powerstroke diesel was better than the International?.
I had heard people complain about the glow plugs with the Internationals, but I haven't heard anything bad about the powerstroke.
