One place no one has mentioned is relocating it into the box bed. If you don't plan on using this truck for hauling you could either make or buy a tank to mount in the bed of the box. You didn't give the make of this truck, but I have a '61 chevy 1/2 ton pickup with the tank behind the seat, and another option that I am thinking about is to fab a steel plate to go over this rear area of the cab, to close in the fuel tank area.
