I must disagree a bit with Farmal Man's opinion of the 351W. It has the exact same 4inch bore and 3-1/2 stroke of the 35`M and will produce good low end torque with the right heads and cam.It Has a much better oiling system than the 351M-400 as it has a dedicated oil gallery for the crank oiling instead of tapping into a lifter gallery like a 351M-400, and has less bearing trouble. The 351W was the standard mid size engine for Ford pickups and vans during the time after the 351M-400 and before the new modular motors. In fact it was still used in vans untill the last few years
