Not chargingPosted by Josh on January 08, 2003 at 09:29:10 from (166.66.74.90):
I have a 1967 Dodge 500 dump truck that doesn't charge the battery. when it is running if you remove the battery cable it stalls immediately. The regulator had been replaced a few years ago so i though that it was ok and replaced the alternator. It still didn't work so i had the alternator tested and it was no good. I got another alternator and tried that. It still didn't work. I replaced the regulator and it still does't work. what could the problem be? the wire connected the the bat. terminal of the alternator is hot when connected the the battery but i dont know where the field wire goes after the regulator becuase it goes into the firewall. Thanks for any help.
