Mandy, did a 1957 Oldsmobile on time,took piston and rod out. used hose clamp to secure incert bearings to crankshaft so as not to lose oil pressure. Left push rods, alone. No piston no suck,no blow. Ran fine,had small viberation from lose of one cyl.Other wise performed fine. That was one of my dads old time fixes, did ok to. Sold the car and told the new owner it needed good tune up.
