Block kit

I have an F-150 with weak rear springs. I don't have the money to replace them at this time but use the truck regularly to haul hay and produce. I was thinking of putting in a 2" block kit in the rear springs to help prevent it from sagging so much. Will this work? Are block kits safe? Thanks.
