I have a kerosene/heating oil furnace from a mobile home installed on a stand in my 20 by 30 garage, with insulation in the walls but not the ceiling yet, and leaky swinging doors on the front. I'm using 5 gallons of kero a day to keep it at 50 degrees overnight and 70 during the day. Best move I ever made to heat the place. I do have to have a stovepipe, but it isn't nearly as dangerous as a wood stove, and a whole lot cleaner. Cost me $200 for furnace, 175 gallon tank, and 90 gallons of fuel. Folks moving out of an older mobile into a new modular sold it to me.

I would expect fuel use to halve when I finish the insulation. Right now the snow on the roof doesn't last very long!....
