Why did you replace the carb in the first place?
Did the back fire start with the new carb?

Over the years I have quit buying rebuilt carbs since every one I ever bought I would up rebuilding to make it work right. You did put back the manifold gasket--right?

If you had any plug wires off check the firing order again--know you checked it before--check it again.

If you haven't messed with the timing I would look else where.

A little more info and somebody here will likely nail it.
