'69 Chevy C-10 with a big block.. a few ?'s...Posted by Rich on February 28, 2003 at 09:17:50 from (24.88.251.221): I'm looking at this Chevy C-10, owner swpped in a 396 and TH400... It's got the leaf spring rear with a 12-bolt, swapped in later-model power front discs, saginaw power steering, etc... It has the usual rust (door seal area, bottom of doors, tailgate,. etc) BUT, here's my question... how much can it tow? And if I change the rear to this 14-bolt I have here, will that change anything, or is the limitation frame-related? The trailer I have has brakes on both axles, so it's not really a stopping question... more of a frame safety/rear end question, as i have NO DOUBT that the engine will pull anything I hook to the truck, but I'm a safety kinda guy.
