Jim, if it's like the potato boxes we had, it is a V-shaped hopper box with a chain-style conveyor in the bottom of the "V". The conveyor was open below to allow clods of dirt that get broken up to fall thru to the ground. The conveyor fed to the rear of the truck, generally unloaded into a stationary conveyor which transported the spuds to the storage bins.
