Question about exhaust tips

I have a 1992 ford truck with a 302 with I think two cat converts is that right, one tail pipe runs out behind the rear wheel on the right side. It still has muffler so here is the question
Would a big tip change the sound would a smaller tip would it change the sound? If so what would it sound like? I would like kinda a deep tone not loud and don't want to change whole exhaust system. Would changeing tips change the sound?
