60 chevy truckPosted by NatHat on April 01, 2003 at 10:43:28 from (205.188.209.11):
Hey fellas I got a project in the works, its a 1960 chevy 1/2 ton with a 283 2bbl and a saginaw 3 speed + granny gear, 2wd. I'm thinking of converting the 283 to a 302 via boring the only part I'm unsure about is the heads. I'm sure to use the original heads on a punched out motor would be a waste of time and money so what kind of heads would be best. I would go staight out and buy chevy 302 heads but when you say those numbers you can see the dollar signs in the eyes of the guy at the parts store. so what would be a compatible set of heads thats gonna let me get the horse power and not take all the torque out... All opinions welcome. P.S. if you have any info on a dually rearend that will fit the original coil spring setup of a 60 chevy anywhere near ky cheap let me know thanks again
