Jonathan - I recently rebuilt a Holley 4 bbl (a "double pumper"). Like most 4 barrels it's complex. However as long as you're methodical about disassembly and keep the parts organized as you tear it down, it's not a difficult job.

The rebuild kit came with a decent exploded assembly diagram. However the diagram covered several variations of the carb model - showed some parts which my particular carb did not have. I made a copy of the diagram, then made notes on the copy as I tore the carb down to help me get the parts in the right places. Particularly important are the two metering blocks and several orifices - the parts look similar but are NOT interchangeable. You must make certain they get replaced back in the right locations upon reassembly!!

If you have a digital camera with macro (closeup) capability, taking photos at various steps of the teardown can be invaluable when you go to put the carb back together - particularly when assembling the external linkages!
