7.3 POWERSTROKE DIESELPosted by GS on April 17, 2003 at 15:01:43 from (208.173.45.58):
I am about to buy a 2000 f-250 superduty and was wondering if i need to put a pyrometer on it to check exhaust temp when hauling. A friend of mine says the new diesels are not as fussy as the old ones. Another person told me if you run the exhaust temp at 1100 degrees for more than 10 minutes i could warp the heads. He said it would be a good idea to put one on. I guess my question is are the new diesels less prone to this than the old ones. Thanks for all your help!!
