How collectable is this 1970 GMC camper special ???Posted by Just Wondering on April 18, 2003 at 12:23:31 from (209.47.89.109):
A friend of mine inherited his father's 1970 GMC 3/4 ton camper special a few years ago. His dad bought it used in the mid-70's from the original owner. It has a 350 engine and automatic transmission and it only has 65000 original miles. Truck is in beautiful shape, original white paint and never winter driven. Interior is imaculate but the wooden box bed needs replacing. I know the regular half-tons are very sought after but what about the camper special 3/4 tons? I believe the box is longer than even a regular long-box (I think). I'm trying to convince him to spend some money and time and redo the box bed this summer but he is hesitant because he doubts that the truck would be worth any more after doing it. Can anyone out there let me know how collectable this truck is and what kind of value it might have? Also, any truck websites a guy might check out that he could visit that he might find interesting?
