From your discription sounds like the pumpkin is almost round. Look at any newer F450 or F550 truck for the style. GM made 3 different capacity axle for the 72 3/4 ton 5,200 7,200 11,000 in this style. They also used the Dana60 5,500lb I have the factory service manual. My truck has the Dana60. As for upgrades and conversions, get the numbers off the axle and e-mail some of the company's that sell this stuff.
