i would check into that law,here in connecticut it used to be that ya needed a cdl for over 18,000lbs,but when the cdl regulations were taken over by the federal dot then it was changed to 26,000lbs nationwide,so ya should have no problem with driving that truck on a regular licence,i have a 24,000 gvw truck that i drive all the time and i just got a regular licence,also i belive cdl goes by the manufacturers gvw not by the registered weight
