I had the same problem not long ago with my F250. I took it to a shop and they said it was the carb. I put a kit in it and it still did it. The shop still said they thought it was the carb and that maybe I just didn't do a good carb rebuild. So I bought a new carb. And it still did it. I turned out to be the coil. I tried this new coil on the c600 and it didn't help. One thing I noticed is on the new coil it said it is used with external resistors. Where are the resistors? The C600 had a 361 with standard distributor before. I went to the junkyard and got the parts I needed to change it over. But I don't see any resistors on either truck unless they are in the control module. Also I was told if it's a bad cam you can remove the value covers and see it. Is that so? It doesn't backfire all the time. After you crank and give it gas it will. Then some times going down the road. Seems to do it more ifs under a strange. But it was doing it more and more at the end of the last trip just going down the hyway. I used the old cam and made sure I got the lifters back in the right holes. The machine shop said the cam was good when I was rebuilding it. Lifters aren‘t adjustable. The truck ran fine with no problems on the first trip. Carl
