Now that's interesting.
When I got to Missouri the next day I tried to crank it and it wouldn't crank.
Ather looking all around I found the little button on the distributor cap had burnt clean away.
So I put in a new cap and rotor button. But it was still back firing after I did so. But not to bad. Coming back to Mississippi it got worst about the last 50 miles. I'll check the cap in the morning.
The old engine had standard ignition. But this new engine came with electronic. Its distributor was bad so I found a like distributor in a junkyard and put in it.
You couldn't fix the indexing on the electronic one? Do I need to find a standard ignition for it?

Carl
