73 Blazer helpPosted by John on June 18, 2003 at 12:35:54 from (24.56.19.117): Howdy! Say I've got a '73 blazer k5 with a brand new 350, a THT 350 and an NP205 transfer case right? Well I'm not too good with troubleshooting, but I'm no dummy and my father also looked at this weird problem to no avial. I was hoping maybe somebody here would recoginize what this sounds like. The problem is a high pitched squeal (think metal on metal, NOT belts) that comes on very strong whenever the engine starts getting to the high RPM's in each gear. It does this when parked and in neutral, and if I let off the gas a little bit I can get the rpms to drop a tad and the squeal stops as if on cue. No alternator blade rubbing and the engine runs MINT. Anyone have any ideas before I go to a shop and blow tons of cash.
