I've seen a couple of dual fuel propane/gasoline engines. My brother prefered to run his on propane after the initial breakin. He tore his first one down after 180k miles, just to check it out. It showed like no wear, had only been run on propane. The gas in his tank had evaporated and varnished up the tank. At that time propane was cheaper per mile than gas.
Look around the net, check with the manufacture, I bet you could either go dual fuel or convert over to gas.
