Wind blows my truck?

I have a 1984 F-150. On a windy day it really gets blown around a lot. It also begins to feel like it is getting blown at fast highway speeds. (70 mph) You have to keep both hands on the wheel and pay attention to it. Other trucks seem to handle the wind easily. Why? And how can I make it handle better? It is a light truck, is this the problem? Even with some weight in it, it performed about the same. Thanks.
