Starter problems, 1953 Chev. 1/2 ton pick upPosted by James on August 03, 2003 at 12:40:27 from (209.62.197.123):
When I step on the foot pedal to start truck, seems like starter motor drive doesn't have enough power to turn engine over (very slugglish) to start. My 6 volt battery is fully charged. Checked battery ground connection and terminals they are ok. Starter pinion does engage to flywheel. Motor tries to turn over but seems not to be able to do so. Could it be my starter motor is shot and needs to be replaced or some other problem
