Re: 1971 chevy truck, coil to leaf springsPosted by John Ne. on September 12, 2003 at 22:12:19 from (209.74.225.145): In Reply to: 1971 chevy truck, coil to leaf springs posted by tony france on September 12, 2003 at 17:20:43:
I believe the GMC came with leaf springs, since my 72 is a camper edition and has leaves under it. To do another I'd take the easy way out, and locate a trailer made from a 67-72GMC pickup, have seen dozens of these little trash haulers sitting in alleys, that way I'd get the springs, shackles, the whole works, jack up your own truck and start blue wrenching. Those trailing arms did like to rust didn't they, saw the whole axle come out from under a 65 once. John in Nebr.
