You canget the springs and associated parts from a GMC, 1967 through 1972. Most of those had leaf springs. My 68 daily driver for the past sixteen years came out with leaf springs. In installed the rear end (2.76 ratio) from an 85 model with no modifications necessary. It even has 2 and 3/4 inch brakes which is good. On the front, I bolted the control arms, upper and lower from a 73 Chev so that I would have rubber control arm bushings for a quieter, softer, ride and disc brakes. The master cylinder and brake booster are also off a 73. Much easier to install it than one made for the 68. Power steering is also from a 73. I did not install the proportioning valve everyone told me was necessary for the disc brakes and have had no problems with it, even after using it for ten years on a rural mail route for 250,000 miles. The trucknow shows 474,000 miles. Stilllooks and drives great.
