72 GMC 402 moter

Just wondering if anybody had heard of a 402 GM moter . The guy has a 72 1/2 ton for sale and says the 402 is the orginal factory moter. It has an automatic trans which has been added on and the truck has been changed some to make it a street truck. He told me it is a 396 ( which I have heard of ) that has been upgraded. Is he pulling my chain. I am looking at buying it for my son. Thanks
